We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. The position will be based in our Riga office and the selected candidate will report directly to the Head of Financial Operations and Accounting.

What you’ll be doing:

The scope of responsibilities for this role covers both UK and non-UK entities of the Clear Junction Group, as well as the Group as a whole.

  • Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to the management of CJ;
  • Responsible for the preparation and closing of monthly and annual financial accounts;
  • Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (i.e.: GL, account reconciliation, etc.), with a separate approach to control and oversight of the APamp;AR process which is performed by the AR/AP Accountant
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal parties (all accountants of the entities of the CJ Group, as well as other roles that perform accounting-related tasks within the CJ Group) to support intercompany activities;
  • Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax and government authorities where required;
  • Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirements, audits, procedures and forms both statutory and internal;
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions;
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analysing account information;
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies;
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Summarises financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Completes external audits by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
  • Contributes to the development, maintenance and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and other internal regulations.
  • CJ services and software improvement:
    • Develop proposals for improvements in the functionality of the company's proprietary software (gate7, bank7, web applications and others);
    • Develop suggestions to enhance SuiteCRM, Sage and other licensed and freeware tools, as well as their integration with other software and services;

Requirements

  • Proficiency in working with spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of general accounting software is required.
  • Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification or a similar industry-recognized qualification is preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Russian.
  • Prior experience in the Fintech industry is a plus.
